Description	John Weldon Lyndon (1836-1912) was born in eastern Canada and in the 1850s moved with his family to Alburgh, Vermont, a farming district in the Lake Champlain Islands. Before he and his brother James reached their teens, they each were working on neighboring farms to earn their board and room. John arrived in Lexington in 1859 and worked as a clerk at Bernard Joseph's general store. Within two years he was a landowner. John acquired large land holdings in the Los Gatos area and was one of five trustees when the town was incorporated in 1887. He served as mayor from 1888-1892. PE084
